This design project in an 800 sqft condo in the heart of Brooklyn focused on transforming the kitchen into a chic, functional, and warm center of family life and entertainment. The main task was to plan a new kitchen layout and create a wider common space that integrated different areas, maximizing the use of the apartment's limited square footage.

The work involved creating a more open and integrated space. 2MO planned a new kitchen layout that opened up the area, making it the central hub for the family. The design focused on connecting different functional areas while maintaining harmony through carefully chosen colors and finishes. Contrasting finishes were used deliberately to create a warm and inviting aesthetic throughout the combined common space.

The result is a highly functional and beautiful home where the kitchen serves as the epicenter. The new, wider common space meets the family’s goal of an integrated area for daily life and entertaining. The careful use of colors and finishes creates a space that is both chic and warm, making the Brooklyn apartment feel larger and more inviting.
