Our clients purchased a historic home in East Williamsburg, which had been owned by a single family for over a century and wanted to complete a gut renovation. The core goal was to preserve and enhance the home's Victorian identity and character while resolving age-related issues and entirely adapting the layout for modern family living across all levels.

The construction involved a comprehensive overhaul. The layouts of all floors were reconfigured: new bedrooms and a TV room were added on the lower level, and the top floor gained two main bedrooms and a large walk-in closet. The kitchen was redesigned with an efficient working area featuring eye-catching navy blue and white cabinetry to create dynamic flow. Three full baths and one half bath were completely redesigned, incorporating elements like patterned tiles and brass fixtures to reinforce a period feel. A dramatic, custom-designed stained-glass skylight was commissioned from Canada and installed above the grand staircase as a centerpiece. The front façade was transformed by replacing vinyl siding with Hardie board and exterior-grade moldings, along with a new color palette and custom metal railing.

The result is a fully restored and transformed family home that successfully merges Victorian heritage with contemporary functionality. Layouts are refreshed, historic elements like antique furniture, brass fixtures, and floral wallpaper are thoughtfully integrated, and the new laundry foyer and updated systems provide essential modern comfort. The stunning façade renewal and the stained-glass skylight dramatically reestablish the townhouse's historic and elegant presence.
