XDC Office in Chelsea
From Industrial Shell to Client-Ready Workspace in Under Four Months
Details
XDC, a digital ledger technology company, was expanding into the United States and purchased an office in Chelsea's design district, close to Hudson Yards. It is a neighborhood where names like Calvin Klein have had a presence. The space itself was a raw industrial shell with cracked floors. The client wanted an office that would build trust with partners from the moment they walk in. XDC's team is distributed across the globe and its leadership travels constantly, so no one could be on site day to day.
This design-build scope in Manhattan began with understanding how XDC operates, who they host, and what the brand means for a company built on trust. 2MO Studio led the full process, from the design concept and material selection to purchasing and construction. The building's design pedigree set a high bar for the finished space. The design response is chic and restrained. It uses a lighter touch instead of heavy statements, letting quality materials and clean details speak for themselves.
Remote management was central to the project. 2MO built a clear project plan and worked closely with XDC's team across time zones. Every week, the client received an update on the schedule, budget, invoices, and materials. The design was reviewed by XDC's global team, and each phase of delivery turned early doubts into confidence. Team members who visited the space in person consistently noted the quality of the finished work. The office was completed in less than four months, from bare shell to finished workspace. Shortly after, XDC hosted an event in the new space and received very positive feedback from clients and partners.
This project reflects 2MO's commitment to transparent and accountable delivery for clients who manage New York properties from abroad. 2MO stays involved after handover and returns to address any needs within the agreement. For XDC, the project became the start of a long-term relationship rather than a one-time engagement.
