Jean Rousseau, a premium French brand known for crafting top-quality custom leather goods, set its sights on opening a showroom in New York. The project was expertly managed by Scharly Designer Studio as the designer, with KBR handling the contracting.

The task involved transforming a former barber shop on Madison Avenue into an elegant space tailored to Jean Rousseau’s requirements. This marked the brand’s inaugural showroom in the United States, following successful showrooms in Paris and Japan.

To honor the space’s history and building identity, some of the existing millwork was preserved and seamlessly integrated into the new design. This combined with modern touches, including custom millwork for the main counter and window units, created a balance between tradition and innovation.
