ABOUT

I am Mohsen Moghaddam. I am the founder and CEO of 2MO Design-Build. At 2MO, we are devoted to build spaces that blend design, artistry, experiences and enhanced property value.

Ever since I was four years old, I found myself crafting wonders from paper. I distinctly recall a day when my uncle, visiting our home in Iran, told my parents that I was talented at creating things. He suggested I explore fields like industrial design and engineering.

My artistic inclinations got stronger and stronger with every passing year. I pursued design education, collaborating with a master artisan to craft bronze sculptures and showcase my paintings in exhibitions across Iran and Azerbaijan.

However, the path of an artist often demands time and patience to gain recognition and financial stability.

So I embarked on a journey toward architecture, viewing it as the perfect bridge between art and financial growth. Iran was a third-world country in dire need of architectural innovation and real estate developments. I discovered that architecture shared common qualifications with sculpture.

A building's exterior, when observed, can be seen as a huge sculpture.
Yet, when you step inside the true essence of a space unfolds—a continuation of experiences from what you feel, see like lighting, hear, and even smell. The tranquility of a well-designed space, or the subtle hum of its AC units, all contribute to the experience.

Equipped with a Master's degree in Architecture and Urban Design from The New York City College, I initially delved into the world of architectural firms, honing my skills in rendering and sketching inside the office.

But I was more passionate about the dynamic fieldwork, where I could witness the rapid transformation of a project from conception to construction. It was then that I shifted to the Design-Build industry, where I embraced new techniques, got my hands dirty, and engaged in dialogues with builders.
